Learning: Empowered! is a locally owned tutoring company specializing in one-on-one, in-home tutoring in the San Francisco Bay Area. Learning: Empowered! is currently accepting applications for part-time tutors able to cover STEM subjects, particularly calculus and physics. We provide academic tutoring primarily high school and middle school students in the East Bay, particularly in Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda and Walnut Creek. Most tutoring takes place weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as on the weekends. You can choose the schedule you want! Position starts the week of August 17th.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Top University
- Two Years of Teaching and/or Tutoring Experience
- Access to a Car and a Willingness to Drive to and from Students' Homes
- Expertise in the Subject(s) You Tutor
- Ability to Commit for the full 2026-2027 Academic Year
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree and/or Teaching Credential
- Ability to Tutor Multiple Subjects
- Experience Working with Youth with Learning Challenges
Subjects We Tutor:
- English (all levels)
- Spanish (all levels)
- Math (Pre-Algebra through Calculus)
- Social Sciences (US History, Modern World History, Economics, US Government, Psychology)
- Natural Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Environmental Science)
Pay: $30+ an hour for tutoring; $18 an hour for all training, prep time and drive time between students' homes. Opportunities to earn bonuses and pay raises.
