Job Overview
We are seeking a Class A driver with 2 years minimum experience operating Class A trucks. Hazmat endorsement and doubles.
Duties
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers with manual transmission across assigned routes, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Load and unload freight, including hazardous materials and dangerous goods, following proper handling procedures and safety protocols.
- Navigate using GPS systems efficiently to ensure on-time deliveries while optimizing routes for fuel efficiency and time management.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with federal regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit.
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and freight handling.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and safe handling procedures for dangerous goods.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations using equipment like forklifts when necessary.
- Strong understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulations related to driver hours of service, safety standards, and cargo security.
- Excellent navigation skills utilizing GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual handling tasks required for freight management.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
