Job Purpose:
The Field Welder I supports field welding operations on steel tank construction and rehabilitation projects while developing foundational welding, safety, and jobsite skills under direct supervision.
Essential Duties Responsibilities:

Perform basic welding tasks under supervision using SMAW, FCAW, or GMAW processes.

Assist with material handling, equipment setup, and jobsite preparation.

Follow established welding procedures and safety protocols.

Assist senior welders with fit-up, tack welding, grinding, and cleanup.

Maintain tools and welding equipment in safe working condition

Participate in required safety meetings and training.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

0–1 year of welding or relevant construction experience preferred.

Entry-level welding certification or ability to pass company weld test.

OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification (or ability to obtain).

Ability to work effectively as part of a crew.

Willingness to travel and work in varying weather conditions.
Working Conditions:

Field-based construction environment with extended hours, overtime, and weekends as needed.

Exposure to heat, cold, dust, fumes, noise, heights, and confined spaces.

Travel required; housing and transportation are the responsibility of the employee.
Safety Requirements:

Strict adherence to all CROM and jobsite safety policies

Mandatory use of required PPE at all times

Compliance with fall protection and silica control programs

Participation in safety meetings, training, and audits
