Instructional Aide (Full-Time)
Southside Community School – Tucson, Arizona
Make a Difference Every Day
Southside Community School is a Title I charter school located in the south side of Tucson, serving students in Preschool through 8th Grade. We are dedicated to helping students and families in our community by providing a high-quality education in a safe, caring, and supportive environment. We proudly provide free breakfast, lunch, and snacks, free preschool and full-day kindergarten, and a free after-school program until 5:00 p.m.
At Southside Community School, our instructional aides are one of our most valuable resources. They play a vital role in supporting student learning, assisting teachers, and helping keep students safe throughout the school day.
We are committed to the professional growth of every employee. Many of our instructional aides have advanced into full-time teaching positions within our school. Even if teaching is not your long-term goal, we strive to provide opportunities for every staff member to develop their talents, grow professionally, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.
If you are looking for a career where every day matters and where your work directly influences the success of children, we would love to meet you.
What We're Looking For:
Be Flexible - You can and will be asked to work with multiple grade levels and in a variety of roles throughout the school year—sometimes at a moment's notice. We are looking for someone adaptable, positive, and willing to help wherever needed.
Show Initiative - There is always meaningful work to be done. We value individuals who recognize needs, take initiative, solve problems, and actively look for ways to support students, teachers, and staff while contributing to the success of the school.
Be Dependable - Your role is essential to the education and safety of our students. Teachers, administrators, families, and students rely on you to be present, prepared, punctual, and committed every day.
Demonstrate Passion - We are looking for individuals who genuinely care about students and are committed to their own professional growth. We value team members who continually strive to improve themselves while helping those around them succeed.
Be Collaborative - Instructional aides work closely with teachers, administrators, instructional support staff, and families. The ideal candidate enjoys working as part of a team, communicates professionally, and contributes positively to our school culture.
Support Every Student - Students learn in different ways and at different paces. We value instructional aides who are patient, use positive behavior supports and de-escalation strategies, and help teachers provide differentiated instruction so all students have the opportunity to succeed.
