We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Car Painter/Body Work Specialist to join our dynamic automotive team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their original condition through expert body repairs, surface preparation, and high-quality painting. Duties
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and structural alignment using welding and mechanical knowledge.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, grinding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply primers, paints, coatings, and finishes using conventional spray guns or airless paint spraying equipment for a flawless finish.
- Conduct automotive buffing and polishing to achieve a high-gloss, professional appearance on painted surfaces.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools such as grinders, sanders, and paint sprayers to execute precise repairs and refinishing tasks.
- Ensure proper surface preparation by masking areas to prevent overspray and maintain clean work environments.
- Assist with auto glass replacement and minor mechanical repairs as needed to support comprehensive vehicle restoration efforts.
- Follow safety protocols including respiratory protection when working with paints, solvents, or hazardous materials.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including auto estimating documentation for repair costs.
- Support vehicle maintenance activities and heavy lifting tasks to facilitate efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in auto body repair and auto painting.
- Strong welding skills combined with mechanical knowledge for structural repairs.
- Proficiency in automotive buffing, sanding, surface preparation, masking, and coating application.
- Experience operating spray guns (conventional and airless), grinders, sanders, buffing machines, and other hand/power tools.
- Knowledge of auto restoration techniques and automotive surface preparation standards.
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes and customer service principles related to vehicle repairs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Mechanic experience is a plus for supporting comprehensive vehicle repairs alongside body work tasks.
- Commitment to safety practices including the use of respiratory protection when handling paints or chemicals.
