Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Kids Jiu-Jitsu Instructor/Coach to inspire and guide young students through the fundamentals of martial arts, specifically focusing on Jiu-Jitsu. In this role, you will create a positive, engaging environment that promotes physical activity, discipline, and confidence among children. Your passion for teaching and sports coaching will help foster a love for martial arts while ensuring safety and development for each student. Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and age-appropriate Jiu-Jitsu classes tailored to children of various skill levels
- Develop lesson plans that incorporate fundamental techniques, safety protocols, and character-building activities
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including proper use of equipment and adherence to health guidelines
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavior management
- Incorporate other sports or physical activities such as Karate, Swimming, Climbing, or Cheerleading to enhance overall physical development when appropriate
Qualifications
- Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education, especially with children
- Knowledge of martial arts disciplines such as Judo, Karate, or other relevant sports like Basketball or Cheerleading is a plus
- Lifeguard experience or AED operation certification is desirable for emergency preparedness
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage young learners
- Experience working with children in childcare settings or educational environments
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere
- Background in health club or gym environments is advantageous but not required
