Dental Assistant – Surgery Focus

At Jacksonville Complete Dentistry, we believe in changing lives through exceptional dental care and meaningful patient relationships. We’re currently seeking a Dental Assistant with strong surgical experience to support our implant, AOX, and surgical procedures.
We’re looking for a skilled assistant who thrives in the surgical setting, supporting complex implant and oral surgery procedures with confidence. While surgery will be your primary focus, we’re a team-first practice and there will be times you’ll also jump in to assist with general dentistry procedures when needed. A positive attitude and willingness to support the team wherever you’re needed are just as important as your technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist during surgical procedures including dental implant placement, AOX, extractions, and bone grafting
- Set up and maintain sterile surgical environments, instruments, and supplies
- Support general dentistry procedures such as crown preps, fillings, hygiene exams, and restorative cases
- Capture and process digital radiographs and scans (CBCT, pano, Trios, etc.)
- Educate patients pre- and post-operatively; provide comfort and assurance throughout treatment
- Collaborate closely with doctors, hygienists, and the admin team for smooth patient flow and optimal care
- Take ownership of inventory, sterilization, and treatment room readiness
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum 2 years of experience in both surgical and general dental assisting
- Hands-on experience with dental implants, AOX, and surgical workflows
- Familiarity with sedation protocols
- Proficiency with digital tools (CBCT, scanner) preferred
- Compassionate communicator with a calm, confident chairside manner
- Flexible, reliable, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
