Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate <LOCATION> Practitioner (ID) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise across various specialties, including critical care, gastroenterology, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and outpatient services. This role involves providing comprehensive patient assessments, administering treatments such as botulinum toxin injections and dermal fillers, managing complex cases in diverse settings including hospitals, nursing homes, and outpatient clinics. The practitioner will utilize advanced EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks to ensure accurate documentation and seamless patient care. Experience with telehealth, medical imaging, and specialized procedures such as spinal taps and cardiac catheterization is highly valued. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories.
- Administer a wide range of treatments such as injections (including botulinum toxin), dermal fillers, IV infusions, catheterizations, and oxygen therapy.
- Perform specialized procedures including suturing, spinal taps, gastric lavage, and airway management.
- Manage acute pain and chronic conditions across multiple settings including ICU, emergency room, urgent care, and post-acute care environments.
- Coordinate discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document all clinical encounters accurately within EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, behavioral health, geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator care), and hospice & palliative medicine.
- Engage in health coaching and patient education to promote wellness and disease prevention strategies.
- Support infection control protocols and sterile processing procedures to ensure safety standards are met.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives or telehealth consultations as needed to advance practice standards.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a healthcare practitioner with appropriate certifications for advanced procedures (e.g., suturing, phlebotomy).
- Extensive experience across multiple specialties such as ICU experience, emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics (including memory care), pediatric care (including neonatal ventilator management), or post-acute care settings.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Demonstrated expertise in medical documentation using ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Skilled in performing invasive procedures like venipuncture, IV insertion/infusion, catheterization (urinary or vascular), tube feeding management, and sterile techniques.
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to diverse patient populations including children with developmental disabilities or elderly with dementia.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers with experience in trauma triage and acute care management.
- Experience working with infectious disease protocols and infection control measures.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical records management.
