Position: High School Student Mentor for EdOptions Learning Centers
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Educational Options Foundation is a nonprofit organization which operates blended learning programs at schools across metro Phoenix and Arizona. As a Student Mentor, you will be helping manage a Learning Center on a small school campus with day to day tasks.
A Learning Center is a safe, productive place for students to work on their courses. Daily tasks include helping students, communicating with teachers and staff, and entering information into various programs as directed.
You will be working closely with students to help them complete classes and receive credits as they work toward their goal of high school graduation!
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Maintains open lines of communication with parents/guardians/support staff/teachers about academic and discipline issues through various mediums including meetings, phone calls, notes, progress reports, etc. (Required)
- Meets regular and predictable attendance requirements. (Required)
- Strong written and spoken communication skills and mathematics skills. (Required)
- Proficiency with technology, e.g., computers (students work on computers for all coursework), cell phones, Gmail, Word, and Excel. (Required)
- Prior experience working with High School students in mathematics and/or English. (Strongly preferred)
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (Required at time of hire)
Experience:
· Relevant: 1 year (Preferred).
Education:
· High school or equivalent (Required).
Language:
· Fluent in English (Required).
· Fluent in Spanish (Preferred).
