The Department of Mathematics supports a diverse student population through a coordinated general education curriculum and growing programs in Applied Mathematics and Data Science. Faculty teach across the mathematics curriculum, from general education and lower-division courses through advanced coursework in applied mathematics, modeling, statistics, and data science.
The department emphasizes applied, project-based learning, consistent academic standards across sections, innovative uses of technology, and strong support for student success. Faculty are encouraged to contribute to curriculum development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the continued expansion of mathematics and data science offerings.
