Retail Area Manager - Essential 1, Petro One, Chevron One, Petro Express service stations
This is a great position for someone who likes variety in their job! The person who fills this position will play a crucial role in working with our team of Service Station Managers to help them maintain high service standards and deliver excellent customer satisfaction at our retail service stations. This is achieved by assisting with inventory management, product promotions, adherence to company standards of cleanliness and customer service, preparing/reconciling reports and monitoring outcomes, collaborating with Store Managers and upper management, and attentiveness to safety and environmental requirements. Ability to travel is required and will be a regular part of the position as you will be making on-site visits to our locations.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and help with store inventory quarterly audits.
- Work with Retail General Manager to ensure all retail store product promotions are executed properly with proper signage and communication with the managers.
- Review and audit daily tobacco counts and cash reconciliation. Work with store managers when discrepancies arise.
- Work with station managers on maintaining store standards (cleanliness, in-stock position etc.) and following company policies.
- Execute site visit inspections and work with store managers on results.
- Work with Store Manager to achieve margins and control expenses.
- Retrieve and record sales and gallons for cardlock stations.
- Reconcile sales reports and budgets monthly.
- Reconcile month end fuel tankage reports for all stores.
- Track UST Regulation Compliance.
- Track employee training and compliance.
- Assist the Retail General Manager and Director of Retail Operations as needed.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent and 4+ years retail multi-unit management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- UST Level A/B Certification is preferred.
- Must have general knowledge of accounting and invoicing procedures. Must have experience in working with point-of-sale systems.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with others and communicate in writing and verbally effectively with others.
- Must possess the desire to achieve higher standards for self and others.
- Should be a team player that is willing to also learn from the team. Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to work independently, manage workload and willing to regularly travel. This position is “on-call” as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and participate in moderately active physical duties. Must be able to operate company vehicles. Must be able to use computer, telephone and other general office equipment.
May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods through out the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to move product. Proper lifting techniques required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The performance of this position requires exposure to industrial areas and marine location which requires the use of personal protective equipment such as appropriate foot wear, safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Industrial areas include hazardous chemicals, fumes, and petroleum by-products. For the most part, exposure is ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
