Position Summary:
As a Safety Coordinator, your main goals will be to work closely with site leadership to promote a safe working environment. This role will monitor the company's safety standards in accordance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and customer requirements. Will conduct investigations and audits with a focus on improving unsafe work practices. This is a field-based, full-time traveling position; the Safety Coordinator will work on-site across our regional markets rather than from a fixed office location, traveling as needed to support project teams and maintain a consistent safety presence in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Collaborates with management to implement safety policies and procedures.
· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
· Conducts safety observations and audits
· Leads incident investigations focusing on process improvements, completing internal and customer facing reports.
· Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries and illnesses and work closely with site leadership & management to implement changes.
· Work closely with the safety team on projects and completing administrative tasks to help support business needs
· Presents/leads training programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, etc.
· Maintains knowledge of the latest trends regarding safety to drive process improvement
· Reviews existing policies, procedures, and programs for potential improvements
· Travels full-time to active jobsites (up to 90-100% of the time), including extended stays as project needs require
· Maintains an ongoing on-site presence across multiple active jobsites, coordinating with site leadership and management to deliver consistent safety oversight
· Performs pre-mobilization safety assessments (site conditions, hazard identification, pre-planning with project team, emergency action plans specific to that location)
· Assist project team with oversight of subcontractors, ensuring they meet Tweet Garot and customer safety standards.
· Verifies subcontractor safety & training documentation and certifications prior to site access
· Assist with coverage of the Tweet Garot Safety Hotline Performs other related duties as assigned
Preferred Experience, Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in safety or construction experience
· 3 to 5 years of safety experience in the construction industry
· Knowledge of safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
· Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30, Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), etc.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to conduct training
· Ability to design and implement effective training and development
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
· Willingness and ability to travel full-time to jobsites, including overnight and extended stays, with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
