Assistant Controller | Step Into Leadership & Drive Financial Operations
Ready to take your accounting career to the next level? We’re seeking a detail-driven and strategic Assistant Controller to partner closely with our Controller and help lead the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing organization.
This is a high-impact role offering a mix of hands-on accounting, team leadership, and strategic involvement perfect for someone who wants to move beyond the numbers and into a true leadership position.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with the Controller to oversee daily accounting operations across multiple functions
- Play a key role in month-end and year-end close, including preparing workpapers and financial statement drafts
- Oversee and support:
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Cash receipts and cash flow reporting
- Fixed assets and capital asset reconciliations
- Work-in-process (WIP) tracking and analysis
- Weekly payroll processing (including prevailing wage)
- Analyze financial data and assist in producing accurate financial reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives
- Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures
- Assist with audits, insurance renewals, and regulatory reporting
- Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance team
- Evaluate performance and help drive team success
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with payroll, WIP, and multi-entity accounting is a plus
- Proven ability to lead, organize, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels
