Part-Time Seasonal Painter
House of Confetti | Event Rentals + Custom Installations
Part-Time | Seasonal | Starting at $17.00/hour
House of Confetti is looking for an experienced painter to join our team on a part-time, seasonal basis. This role will assist with painting, repainting, touching up, and finishing a variety of event rental pieces, including bars, bar backs, shelving, display pieces, custom builds, and other specialty rental inventory.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced house painter, commercial painter, scenic painter, handyman, or similar skilled professional who is looking for flexible additional work during our busy event seasons.
Our rental inventory is used for weddings, corporate events, and special events, so attention to detail and a high-quality finished product are extremely important.
Responsibilities
- Paint and repaint House of Confetti rental inventory, including bars, bar backs, shelving, display pieces, panels, props, custom builds, and other event rental items
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, priming, patching, and making minor surface repairs
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and other appropriate painting tools
- Complete touch-ups and repairs to rental pieces between events
- Follow specific paint colors, finishes, and design instructions provided by the House of Confetti team
- Ensure finished products are clean, smooth, professional, and event-ready
- Properly protect surrounding work areas and rental inventory while painting
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Properly clean and care for painting tools and equipment
- Assist with light finishing or preparation work related to rental inventory when needed
- Communicate with the House of Confetti team regarding project progress, materials needed, or any issues with a rental piece
- Complete projects within requested timelines, particularly when pieces are needed for upcoming events
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have previous professional or substantial hands-on painting experience.
We are especially interested in candidates with experience in residential painting, commercial painting, carpentry finishing, scenic painting, furniture painting, cabinetry, construction, or similar trades.
Candidates should:
- Have experience with surface preparation, priming, painting, and finishing
- Be comfortable working with a variety of materials and surfaces
- Have strong attention to detail and take pride in producing clean, professional work
- Be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently once given direction
- Be able to follow instructions regarding specific colors, finishes, and project requirements
- Be comfortable working in a warehouse environment
- Be able to safely lift and move materials or rental pieces as needed
- Be comfortable standing, bending, kneeling, and working with their hands for extended periods
- Understand the importance of meeting deadlines in an event-based business
Experience painting furniture, cabinetry, props, event installations, or custom-built pieces is a plus, but is not required.
Tools + Training
Painting tools and necessary equipment will be provided by House of Confetti.
On-the-job training will also be provided to familiarize the painter with our rental inventory, preferred finishes, processes, and quality standards.
We are looking for someone who already understands the fundamentals of painting. Training will focus primarily on how we prepare and finish House of Confetti products rather than teaching basic painting skills.
Schedule + Compensation
This is a part-time, seasonal position only.
Hours will vary depending on our event schedule, rental demand, and the number of pieces that need to be painted or refreshed. Some weeks may have more hours available than others, particularly during our busy wedding and event seasons.
Because our work is deadline-driven, applicants should be comfortable with a schedule that may fluctuate based on upcoming events.
Pay starts at $17.00 per hour.
This position may be an especially good fit for someone who already works as a painter, house painter, or tradesperson and is looking for additional part-time or seasonal work.
What We're Looking For
Beyond painting experience, we're looking for someone who is:
- Reliable — When a rental piece needs to be ready for a wedding or event, deadlines matter.
- Detail-oriented — Our pieces are photographed, styled, and viewed up close by clients and guests.
- Efficient — We value quality work while also needing someone who can work productively.
- Flexible — Projects and priorities can change quickly in the event industry.
- Careful with inventory — Our rental pieces are an important part of our business and must be handled with care.
- Team-oriented — We want someone who communicates well and is comfortable working alongside our warehouse and event team.
