Job Title: Part-Time Foster Grandparent Program Van Driver – Wilson County
Department: Division of Older Adult Services Division

Reports To: Foster Grandparent Program Administrator
Compensation: $14-$16 per hour (20 hours a week)
Function:
Perform all general transportation duties for the Foster Grandparent Program. Assist with identifying, attracting and enrolling eligible seniors to serve as Foster Grandparent Program volunteers.
Qualifications:
Education: A high school diploma. Ability to build relationships with individuals and community organizations. Good communications skills are a must.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be knowledgeable of the FGP goals and objectives.
- Maintain client and volunteer data.
- Complete required transportation documents report including pre- and post-trip inspections, volunteer transportation logs, and other relevant documents.
- Provide volunteer transportation to volunteer stations and home assignments, recognition activities, training programs and recruitment opportunities.
- Coordinate and assist outreach specialist with FG volunteers’ daily route implementation.
- Know FGP assignments as it relates to those that staff will be transporting; understand needs of FG’s with demonstrated effort to assist them.
- Be knowledgeable of the FGP goals and objectives.
- Know and support WAGES mission and programs.
- Must pass all Criminal History Checks.
- Complete National Service Criminal History Check eCourse and maintain annual certification.
- Maintain an active NC Driver’s License.
- Provide Transportation for FGP volunteers (utilizing the agency’s vehicle).
- Participate in training and other activities relevant to the job.
- Assist with identifying, attracting, and enrolling eligible older adults to serve within the FGP.
- Assist with the distribution of recruitment materials (flyers, brochures, presentations) that highlight program benefits and volunteer impact.
- Other duties assigned by FG Program Administrator in accordance with FGP Federal Grant guidelines.

Physical, Mental and/or Visual Demands
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day while assisted with transportation of volunteers.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to bend and stoop.
- Must maintain an active NC Driver’s License.
