Director of Business Development
Location: Remote, based out of Hamilton, NJ and Levittown, PA
Territory: Primarily Central NJ and Greater Philadelphia, PA, with remote support in additional Northeast markets
Travel: Local travel and occasional regional conferences/events
First Docs is a rapidly growing physician-led internal medicine practice specializing in post-acute, skilled nursing facility, and outpatient primary care services. We partner with SNFs, rehab centers, hospitals, assisted living communities, and healthcare organizations to provide proactive physician management, strong clinical presence, and high-acuity patient support.
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Director to support growth initiatives throughout our Pennsylvania and New Jersey markets. This is a hands-on outbound business development role with a strong emphasis on cold calling, lead generation, appointment setting, and consistent follow-up activity across both our SNF/post-acute business and outpatient physician offices.
In addition to skilled nursing and post-acute business development efforts, this role will also support B2B marketing and referral relationship development for the broader First Docs medical practice, including outpatient offices in Hamilton, NJ and Levittown, PA. This includes networking with healthcare professionals, community organizations, senior care providers, assisted living communities, case managers, hospital discharge planners, and referral sources throughout the region.
The ideal candidate is organized, persistent, tech-savvy, and comfortable spending a significant portion of their workday performing outbound calls, email outreach, CRM follow-up, and pipeline management while also representing the organization at networking and industry events.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-volume outbound cold call and email outreach to SNFs, rehab centers, administrators, DONs, hospitals, assisted living communities, physician offices, and healthcare decision-makers
- Generate and qualify leads for new business opportunities across First Docs service lines
- Schedule meetings and introductions for senior leadership
- Drive referral relationship development and awareness for First Docs outpatient offices in Hamilton, NJ and Levittown, PA
- Maintain detailed CRM activity and pipeline tracking within HubSpot
- Utilize Definitive Healthcare and other market intelligence tools to identify prospects and target accounts
- Attend networking events, conferences, healthcare association meetings, and industry functions
- Build relationships with physicians, case managers, discharge planners, assisted living communities, senior care professionals, and community referral sources
- Support physician recruiting outreach initiatives in select markets as needed
- Track outreach performance, follow-up activity, and market trends
- Help expand First Docs’ presence throughout the Northeast healthcare landscape
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of healthcare sales, admissions, marketing, physician liaison, or post-acute business development experience
- Strong understanding of the SNF, rehab, long-term care, or post-acute healthcare landscape
- Existing relationships within the NJ and PA post-acute and healthcare community strongly preferred
- Established network of administrators, DONs, case managers, discharge planners, or post-acute professionals preferred
- Comfortable with high-volume outbound calling and repetitive outreach activity
- Strong CRM and technology skills required
- Experience with HubSpot, Definitive Healthcare, or similar platforms preferred
- Organized, self-directed, and able to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general business software
Compensation & Benefits:
