Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments to maintain a safe clinical environment
- Perform basic clinical procedures such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, and X-ray assistance
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately, including documentation of patient encounters and ICD coding
- Support patient service activities by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and providing clear instructions for follow-up care
- Monitor patient physiology and vital signs during visits to ensure optimal health assessment
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding practices
- Experience working in across specialties
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management tools
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures confidently
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is preferred
