Job Title: Maintenance Specialist
Classification: Non-exempt, Full-time, Hourly
Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Typical work hours: 8am – 5pm
Days of week: Monday - Friday
Overtime: is expected, as needed
On-Call responsibilities, as needed
Location: Pierceton Woods Academy & Spencer Home (PWASH)

Major Responsibilities / Activities –

Assist with the identification and prioritization of maintenance and repair needs.

Maintain records showing the maintenance and repair activities performed.

Perform maintenance and repair activities on buildings and equipment that 1) is within your personal expertise, 2) has been approved, and 3) can be done more effectively than sub-contracting the work.

Represent PWASH's interests by monitoring work performed by sub-contractors.

Travel:
Travel is not a regular part of this position; however, it may be necessary at times for trainings, meetings, residents’ needs, and other activities.
Physical and Visual Acuity Requirements:
The physical requirement of this position is defined as Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
The visual acuity requirements needed to perform this position include having visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general labor, etc.) or to make general
observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).

Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma / GED

Must be at least 21 years of age

Expertise in wide range of maintenance matters and facility upkeep.

Positive attitude in taking directions and interacting with students and staff
Preferred Education and Experience:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in field or related field
