Position Summary:
As a Bartender at Gyuzo Japanese BBQ, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our guests' dining experience by providing expertly crafted beverages, from traditional Japanese drinks to inventive cocktails. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of beverage quality, cleanliness, and service. This role demands a passion for mixology, a deep understanding of beverage pairing with Japanese cuisine, and the ability to deliver warm, attentive, and efficient service to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, including traditional Japanese sake, beer, wine, spirits, and custom cocktails, with a focus on quality and presentation.
- Engage with guests to recommend beverages that complement their dining choices, demonstrating knowledge of Japanese cuisine and culture.
- Manage the bar inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels of all ingredients and supplies. Place orders and restock items as needed, maintaining effective cost control.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Process transactions and handle cash and card payments accurately.
- Develop new cocktail recipes and beverage offerings in collaboration with the management team, keeping up with trends and guest preferences.
- Train and mentor junior bar staff, promoting teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Participate in events and promotions to enhance the dining experience and attract new guests.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bartender, with a strong foundation in mixology, particularly in crafting cocktails and knowledge of Japanese beverages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with guests.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in hospitality or related field is advantageous.
- Current certification as a bartender or in responsible alcohol service (as required by local laws).
- Ability to multitask, work efficiently under pressure, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A passion for Japanese culture and cuisine is highly desirable.
