Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager for our Women’s Consignment Boutique. This leadership role involves assisting management and owner in overseeing daily store operations, managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining inventory control. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, retail industry experience, and a passion for fashion to help drive sales and foster a welcoming environment for our clientele.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily store operations to ensure smooth functioning and high standards of customer service.
- Supervise and motivate sales associates, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Assist management and owner in inventory management including stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing, and stock control.
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism and resolve issues promptly to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, returns, and cash handling procedures accurately.
- Support recruiting efforts by interviewing potential staff members and participating in employee orientation.
- Assist with scheduling shifts, supervising sales team activities, and ensuring operational efficiency.
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote the boutique’s offerings both in-store and through digital channels.
- Ensure compliance with store policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or in a supervisory retail role within the fashion or retail industry.
- Strong knowledge of retail management systems including POS systems and inventory control software.
- Demonstrated skills in team management, training & development, and leadership.
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently with strong organizational skills and time management.
- Basic math proficiency for daily operations such as register balancing and inventory calculations.
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and operational management best practices.
- A proactive attitude with excellent customer service skills and a passion for fashion.
