Overview
We are seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused Armed Security Officer to join our Security team. This position plays a vital role in protecting our guests, team members, visitors, and property while fostering a safe, welcoming, and peaceful environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, integrity, professionalism, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations.
Duties
Provide armed security services to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, visitors, and company property.
Conduct routine patrols of the campus by foot and vehicle to identify and address safety or security concerns.
Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems.
Staff the security gate by verifying the credentials of guests, visitors, vendors, and contractors while operating the electronic access gate.
Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, alarms, medical incidents, and security-related situations.
Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations with professionalism and respect.
Provide exceptional customer service by assisting guests with directions, information, and general assistance.
Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire rescue, and emergency responders when necessary.
Assist with loss prevention efforts and protect company assets.
Maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorized activity and promote a safe environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Security Leadership.
Experience
Previous experience as an Armed Security Officer, law enforcement officer, military police, or related security position preferred.
Valid Florida Class "D" Security License (Required).
Valid Florida Class "G" Armed Security License (Required).
Current CPR and First Aid Certification required or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
Experience using CCTV, surveillance systems, and access control systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to remain calm, professional, and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Schedule
Full-time
Day, evening, overnight, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
Schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
