Ursuline Sisters Living is looking for a part-time dietary server in our assisted living community. We are looking for a team member who can ensure a warm, dignified dining experience. Responsibilities include taking food orders, serving meals, following specific dietary restrictions, bussing tables, and maintaining a clean dining area, washing dishes, prepping food, sweeping and moping floors. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and basic food safety knowledge.
Primary Responsibilities
- Meal Service: Greet residents, present the daily menu, and accurately take and serve food and beverage orders.
- Dietary Needs: Accommodate specific resident dietary restrictions (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, thickened liquids, or texture modifications).
- Dining Room Upkeep: Set tables, clear (bus) dishes after meals, sanitize eating surfaces, and restock condiments.
- Kitchen Sanitation: Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cookware. Sweep, mop, and empty trash in the dining or prep areas.
- Food Safety: Safely handle, store, and label food items according to state and local health codes.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Food service or hospitality experience is a plus, but many facilities offer on-the-job training for the right candidate.
- Interpersonal Skills: A compassionate, patient demeanor and a genuine desire to work with the elderly.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for long shifts, bend, and lift up to 25-50 lbs.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic with reliable attendance, especially regarding weekend and holiday availability.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Environment: A professional, community-style dining room rather than a fast-paced restaurant.
- Schedule: Part-time shifts are typically structured around meal times. Shifts include early mornings (7:00 AM - 2:00 PM) or evenings ( 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM), with rotating weekend requirements
Pay: From $13.50 per hour
Work Location: In person
