Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel
The Guest Laundry Valet is responsible for processing all guest and employee laundry in a timely and professional manner while ensuring garments are handled with care and returned according to hotel service standards. This position helps maintain an efficient laundry operation by organizing, tracking, and delivering laundry orders with exceptional attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receive, sort, and process all guest and employee laundry according to hotel standards and care instructions.
- Ensure all guest laundry orders are completed accurately and returned within the established turnaround time.
- Process employee uniforms and laundry to ensure departments have clean uniforms available as scheduled.
- Inspect garments for stains, damage, or special care requirements before processing.
- Tag, organize, and track guest laundry to ensure accurate delivery and prevent loss or mix-ups.
- Fold, press, hang, and package garments in accordance with hotel presentation standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary laundry work area.
- Practice safe work habits and follow all hotel safety procedures.
- Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with guests and hotel associates.
- Follow all Company policies and Brand Standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred, but not required.
- Must have a positive attitude and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet established turnaround times.
- Must work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and fellow associates.
- Must maintain professionalism and composure under pressure.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift and move laundry bags and carts weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must have a commitment to providing excellent guest service.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to perform this job.
