We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital link between our customers and the service department, ensuring that all service needs are accurately communicated and addressed. This role requires strong customer service skills, a solid understanding of automotive repair processes, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their service needs.
- Document customer concerns and vehicle issues accurately for the mechanics.
- Provide estimates for repairs and services, explaining necessary work to customers.
- Schedule appointments and manage the workflow of the service department.
- Follow up with customers regarding their vehicle status and any additional services needed.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.
- Collaborate with mechanics to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to service delivery.
- Stay updated on automotive service trends, including brake repair, air brake systems, shocks struts, and diesel engine repair.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Service Writer or in a similar customer-facing role in the automotive industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive service processes, including brake repair, alignment, suspension systems, and diesel engine repair.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and technicians.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using dealership management software or similar systems is a plus.
- A background in mechanics or automotive service is highly desirable.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
