Position Title: Bar Prep
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Reports To: General Manager/Bar Manager
Position Summary:
The Bar Prep is responsible for supporting bar operations by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and proper stock levels while assisting with basic food preparation. This role ensures the bar is fully set up for service and operates efficiently, contributing to a seamless guest experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain all work areas and equipment used in food and beverage preparation.
- Ensure proper and adequate daily setup of the bar by requisitioning, stocking, and preparing all necessary condiments and produce according to established standards.
- Prepare food items to order following established recipes while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
- Stock shelves, racks, tables, and service stations with necessary supplies for service.
- Support bartenders and service staff to ensure smooth and efficient bar operations.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bar and storage areas.
- Assist with opening, running, and closing side work duties as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company standards.
- Report to work on time, in proper uniform, and ready to perform duties.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in a restaurant or bar environment preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with team members.
- Strong customer service mindset and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general sanitation and safety practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed.
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and take direction from management.
- Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
- Must be able to stand and work on feet for extended periods (at least 8 hours).
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and push, pull, or move up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, and occasionally climb as required.
Pay: $21.00 per hour
