POSITION SUMMARY: The Category Manager for Iron is responsible for overseeing the procurement, management, and optimization of iron-related assets and services within the supply chain. This role involves negotiating rates for inspection rig-ups and miss rentals, managing CAPEX budgets, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure asset placement and quality standards are met efficiently. The Category Manager will play a vital role in maintaining operational excellence and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.")
- Negotiate rates with vendors for inspection rig-ups and misc. rentals to optimize costs and service levels.
- Manage and monitor the CAPEX budget allocated for iron assets, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial plans.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure failed assets are promptly replaced in a timely manner to minimize operational downtime.
- Routinely audit vendors in collaboration with the quality team to evaluate service levels, compliance, and adherence to company policies.
- Work closely with the mobilization team to support inspections and asset mobilization activities, ensuring seamless operations.
- Collaborate with the quality team for routine vendor evaluations and ensure all operations meet company quality standards and policies.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among supply chain, quality, and mobilization teams to support efficient asset management and operational success.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Successfully passes background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Valid U.S. Driver’s license
- Daily, in person, predictable attendance
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL
- Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 of years of experience in related field in lieu of degree
- Experience in procurement, vendor management, or Supply Chain Management
- Knowledge of inspection and asset management in the iron or oil and gas industry

The Category Manager Iron may work in a warehouse/shop environment that makes them susceptible to common hazards such as physical strain, moving machinery, loading, unloading, falling objects, slips, trips, and falls. equired to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach and squat/kneel. They will also need to speak clearly and audibly, as well as have the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and /or other sounds (e.g., building alarms) deriving from in person speech, telephone, or other remote speech.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk, stoop, kneel, sit, climb, crouch and/or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds with a team lift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work hours may include or includes early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
