We are seeking an experienced housekeeping professional to assist in leading and managing the housekeeping department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and prior experience managing housekeeping operations within a hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume the responsibilities of the Executive Housekeeper during his or her absence.
- Supervise housekeeping staff to ensure the facility remains clean, organized, and maintained to hotel standards.
- Plan and assign daily workloads based on occupancy and guest count.
- Ensure all team members follow housekeeping procedures, safety guidelines, and sanitation standards.
- Inspect guest rooms, hallways, and public areas daily to ensure compliance with brand standards.
- Address guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Recommend cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Assist with financial forecasting, budgeting, labor management, and expense control.
- Generate reports related to labor, supplies, expenses, and housekeeping operations.
- Ensure safe handling and proper labeling of cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Assist with hiring, training, coaching, performance evaluations, retention, and disciplinary actions.
- Support waste management, recycling, and environmental safety initiatives.
- Educate staff on company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to avoid shortages or overstock.
- Assist with cleaning rooms and performing operational duties as business demands require.
Qualifications
- Previous experience managing or supervising a housekeeping department in a hotel environment required.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of hotel brand standards, OSHA regulations, and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to manage labor efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to train, motivate, and lead a diverse team.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
