Job Overview
The Controller leads the financial and administrative functions of a two-plant manufacturing operation, including financial reporting, budgeting, cost and inventory accounting, and internal controls. The role also oversees procurement, human resources, and information technology, ensuring accurate financial results, effective purchasing and inventory management, compliant HR practices, and reliable IT systems. The role will benefit from experience or familiarity with mergers and acquisitions, including transaction support, financial due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-acquisition integration. The Controller partners with plant and executive leadership to support operational efficiency, cost control, and strategic initiatives, and will manage teams remotely with periodic travel between plant locations.
Duties
- Lead all finance and accounting activities for a two-plant manufacturing operation, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost and inventory accounting, and internal controls
- Partner with plant and executive leadership to drive operational efficiency, cost control, and strategic initiatives
- Oversee procurement and inventory management to ensure effective purchasing, supplier performance, and working capital control
- Provide leadership and oversight for human resources and information technology functions, ensuring compliance and reliable systems
- Support mergers and acquisitions activities, including due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-acquisition integration
- Manage, develop, and mentor finance and administrative teams across both locations, with periodic travel between plants
Skills
- Manufacturing accounting expertise, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
- Financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
- ERP systems and financial systems oversight across multi-plant operations
- Procurement, inventory, and working capital management
- M&A financial support, including due diligence, purchase accounting, and integration
- Ability to develop, mentor, and performance-manage direct reports
- Ability to partner with plant and executive leadership to assist in developing, refining, and implementing business strategies
Pay: From $140,000.00 per year
