Position Summary & Schedule
We are seeking a heavy-duty Warehouse Crating Associate to join our fulfillment operations. In this role, you will be directly responsible for building custom pallets and crates, feeding stock to the packaging line, maintaining raw material inventories, and handling LTL freight loading and unloading.
- Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Day Shift, includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
- Overtime: Occasional overtime paid at $1.5\times base hourly rate
- Environment: Active warehouse environment equipped with industrial airflow fans
Key Responsibilities
- Custom Pallet & Crate Assembly: Cut down 2x4 lumber and heavy OSB boards using power tools, and assemble customized pallets/crates using pneumatic nail guns to ensure safe transport for large commercial orders.
- Packaging Team Staging: Proactively keep the packaging team supplied with pre-built pallets, crating materials, and packing supplies to maintain seamless workflow.
- Raw Material Inventory Tracking: Monitor stock levels of wood, OSB, fasteners, and packaging materials, identifying when raw inventory needs to be replenished.
- LTL Truck Freight Loading & Unloading: Safely operate a forklift to load finished orders onto LTL trailers and unload incoming shipments and raw supplies.
- Material Handling: Move large pallets, raw wood, and packaged freight safely throughout the warehouse footprint.
- Cross-Functional Support: Directly assist other packaging line positions during peak shipment cycles and maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
- Forklift Experience: Proven, safe forklift operation in a fast-paced warehouse environment (specifically handling heavy or oversized palletized loads).
- Power Tool & Nail Gun Proficiency: Hands-on experience operating saws, pneumatic nail guns, and standard carpentry tools safely.
- Measurement & Math Skills: Ability to accurately read a tape measure and execute precise lumber cuts.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, handle heavy OSB sheets and lumber, and work on your feet for the duration of the shift.
- Proactive & Reliable: Strong attendance record, punctual habits, and the foresight to keep packaging teams supplied without waiting for direction.
- General Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license and be authorized to work in the United States.
