Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal/Case Manager to join our dynamic law practice. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing a diverse portfolio of legal cases across multiple practice areas, including business, real estate, and litigation. Your expertise will support attorneys by conducting comprehensive legal research, preparing documentation, managing case files, and ensuring seamless communication with clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal support skills while contributing to impactful legal work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is client-focused, detail oriented, and has at least three (3) years of experience in a service industry position.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case management across various legal disciplines, including business, real estate, and litigation.
- Review and format legal documents including contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with attention to accuracy and clarity.
- Manage electronic and physical case files using document management systems like Clio.
- Support client communication by scheduling interviews and appointments, preparing summaries of client interviews, scheduling and coordinating meetings and court hearings, and maintaining the highest level of client confidentiality at all times.
- Assist with procedural law compliance by preparing filings for courts or administrative agencies and tracking deadlines diligently.
- Manage attorney calendars to ensure all deadlines are appropriately maintained.
- Perform data entry, document review, proofreading, transcription, and general administrative tasks to streamline office operations.
- Coordinate with external vendors or agencies on projects related to environmental or tribal law cases while maintaining project timelines.
- Provide executive administrative support as needed to ensure the smooth functioning of the legal team.
Skills (Preferred Only)
- Proven experience with legal case management software such as iManage and PCLaw; familiarity with document management systems is essential.
- Strong research skills using LexisNexis; ability to analyze and organize complex legal information efficiently.
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; ability to proofread meticulously.
- Effective verbal communication skills for client interviews and team collaboration; professional phone etiquette is required.
- Organizational prowess in managing multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines consistently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document creation and data analysis.
- Knowledge of procedural laws across different jurisdictions; experience supporting litigation processes from filing to trial preparation.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly with high ethical standards.
- Strong research capabilities coupled with excellent writing skills for preparing reports or summaries that support case development.
- Experience in handling diverse legal matters including general & commercial litigation, business and real estate matters, and day-to-day office management tasks as needed.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
