Caregiver — Full-Time and Part-Time
Location: San Mateo County, California
Pay Range: $24.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience, qualifications, assigned duties, and other job-related factors.
Griswold Home Care is seeking compassionate, dependable Caregivers to provide non-medical in-home care and support to older adults and other clients in San Mateo County. Full-time and part-time positions may be available, with day, evening, overnight, and weekend assignments depending on client needs.

Compensation and Benefits
Eligible employees may receive:
- Hourly pay of $24.00–$28.00, based on job-related factors.
- Weekly pay by direct deposit.
- Access to earned-wage services through Tapcheck, subject to program terms and eligibility.
- Paid Time Off, subject to the applicable policy and eligibility requirements.
- Holiday premium pay, where applicable under company policy.
- Overtime pay in accordance with California law.
- Paid travel time and mileage reimbursement for qualifying travel between client assignments, in accordance with applicable law and company policy.
- Paid onboarding and training, as applicable.
- Flexible scheduling based on employee availability and client-care needs.
- Day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. Griswold Home Care does not offer 24-hour live-in shifts for this position.
Essential Job Duties
Caregivers may perform the following duties, depending on the client’s authorized care plan, needs, and assignment:
- Provide companionship, conversation, encouragement, and cognitive engagement.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers, ambulation, and mobility assistance.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as authorized in the care plan.
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, and other household-support tasks.
- Provide respectful support to clients living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other cognitive impairments.
- Observe and report changes in a client’s condition, needs, or home environment to the care team promptly.
- Complete required shift notes, care documentation, and timekeeping accurately and on time.
- Follow all client-care plans, infection-control practices, safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and company policies.
- Perform other job-related duties within the scope of the position and applicable law.
This position does not include skilled nursing, medical treatment, medication administration, or other services outside the caregiver’s authorized scope of practice, unless specifically permitted by law and assigned under appropriate supervision.
Required Qualifications
- A compassionate, respectful, patient, and dependable approach to client care.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, supervisors, and care-team members.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to reliably report to assigned client locations throughout San Mateo County.
- A valid California driver’s license, proof of current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation if driving is an essential function of the assigned position.
- Ability to meet applicable California Home Care Aide registration, background-clearance, and other legal requirements, if required for the role.
- Authorization to work in the United States, as required by law.
