An established mechanical contractor serving the Quad Cities area is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join its growing service team. Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems and controls.
- Service rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, air handling units, exhaust systems, and related equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and recommend corrective repairs.
- Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control system issues.
- Replace and repair HVAC components including motors, compressors, contactors, sensors, valves, belts, bearings, and controls.
- Complete service reports, work orders, and maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
- Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly with customers.
- Follow all safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with dispatch, project managers, and fellow technicians to prioritize service calls.
- Participate in an after-hours emergency on-call rotation.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional manner.
QualificationsRequired
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting experience with commercial HVAC equipment.
- Experience performing maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems.
- EPA Universal Certification or the ability to obtain it within a specified timeframe.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple service calls.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physical work in varying weather conditions.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Preferred
- 3+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
- Iowa Mechanical License and/or Iowa HVAC/Refrigeration License.
- Building Trades Journeyman HVCAR status.
- Completion of an accredited HVAC apprenticeship or technical training program.
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Knowledge of HVAC controls, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and DDC controls.
- Experience servicing boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and large commercial equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
