We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to support the day-to-day accounting operations of our Tennessee branch. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with reporting and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with branch and corporate finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoices, payments, deposits, and expense documentation.
- Reconcile bank accounts, vendor statements, customer accounts, credit card activity, and general ledger balances.
- Maintain accurate accounting records, files, and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial reports, spreadsheets, and account analyses for branch and management review.
- Research and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, payments, account balances, and financial records.
- Support internal controls, audit requests, tax documentation, and compliance-related reporting as needed.
- Collaborate with branch operations, vendors, customers, and corporate accounting to ensure timely and accurate financial processing.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general ledger experience.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial recordkeeping practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and accounting or ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced branch environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting branch, distribution, manufacturing, construction, service.
- Familiarity with GAAP, internal controls, audit support, and month-end close processes.
- Experience with vendor management, or customer billing.
- Intermediate Excel skills
Work Schedule and Environment
This is a full-time position based at our Tennessee branch. Standard business hours apply, with occasional flexibility required during month-end close, year-end close, audits, or other peak accounting periods.

Pay: $66,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
