We are looking to recruit an observant lifeguard to ensure the safety and to supervise members and guests in and around the swimming pool. The lifeguard will implement safety rules to the members and guests, warn them about unsafe situations, and enforce policies. You will play an instrumental role in maintaining orderliness by inspecting swimming pool areas, locker rooms, and restrooms. To ensure success you need to assess situations swiftly and make judicious decisions regarding the safety of swimmers. Top candidates are excellent communicators, swift, and safety minded.
Qualifications
· Must pass Lifeguard Training
· Able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
· Be all to lift member and guests of all weights with the assistance of a backboard.
· Must attend all required in-service trainings to maintain lifeguard certification.
· Adequate knowledge of and training in pool chemistry, rescue and surveillance techniques, CPR/AED and blood-borne pathogens.
· Participates in pool safety programs and risk management.
· Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
· Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
General Duties
· Supervises and observes swimmers at all times to ensure their safety.
· Administers care to swimmers’ minor injuries such as small cuts and bruises.
· Maintains amenities in and cleanliness of changing rooms, bathrooms, and showers.
· Enforce rules of conduct at the pool.
· Checks first aid supplies and reports needed items.
· Straightens the pool and cabana areas at the end of the day.
· Maintains all necessary records determined by the Swimming Pool Manager.
· Attends all meetings as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager.
· Implements all pool safety equipment.
· Perform required pool pre-opening duties.
· Informs swimming pool manager about unresolved member or guest disruptions that could cause a safety problem.
· Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Swimming Pool Manager.
Compensation
$16/hour based on experience.
