The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for fleet management, driving buses, driver scheduling, transportation contracts, systematic inspection, and development of a comprehensive plan for preventive maintenance. This position ensures safe, reliable, and efficient transportation operations and compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations

At a minimum, the essential functions of this position shall include:

Responsible for the management of transportation for the college, including special event transportation and scheduled trips.

Displays leadership in areas of responsibility.
-
Responsible for driving buses and other college vehicles between campuses and other various locations.
-
Schedule, train, and supervise transportation personnel.
-
Maintain compliance with all applicable federal and state Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations by monitoring regulatory changes, updating policies and procedures, and ensuring required documentation, training, and recordkeeping are current and compliant.

Manage CDL Drug Testing Program.

Monitor driver certifications, licensing requirements, and safety training.

Develop a comprehensive preventative maintenance program and update as needed.

Coordinate the scheduled maintenance and repair of all college vehicles and buses, including routine maintenance and other matters as they arise.

Schedule and arrange athletic teams' transportation.

Schedule and arrange transportation for all school-related trips for students and/or employees.
-
Coordinate scheduling and driver assignments for trips.

Plan bus routes to maintain efficiency and safety.

Maintain transportation records, vehicle logs, accident reports, and maintenance documentation.

Prepare and submit transportation reports as required by the College and State Board Policy.

Responsible for purchases and inventory of parts, fuels, and supplies for the department.

Manage transportation budgets, monitor expenditures, and recommend cost-saving initiatives.

Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation vendors and contractors.
