American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Acute Dialysis position at a Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital in New Mexico, requiring at least 1 year of dialysis experience and ACLS/BLS certifications.

Work in a dedicated dialysis unit within a Level I Trauma, acute care, teaching hospital and children's hospital with 554 staffed beds
-
Five-bay dialysis unit treating up to 5 patients per shift across approximately 3 shifts per day, resulting in 13–15 patients treated daily

Responsible for both unit-based and bedside dialysis treatments, with 2–4 bedside treatments per day

Responsible for managing peritoneal dialysis for hospitalized inpatients

Patient ratio of 1:2

Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
-
Every other weekend required
-
On-call is required for night and Sunday emergent dialysis coverage

Charting via Cerner
-
Active NM or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted

Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (RQI certifications are not accepted)

Minimum 1 year of dialysis RN experience required

COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with a completed exemption form signed by a provider for medical exemptions

Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

RTO requests exceeding 7 days require approval; all scheduling requests must be submitted upfront

Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached the one-year mark at this facility must take a 6-month break before returning

Black scrubs required; not provided by the facility

No parking fee at the facility

13-week contract; new contracts and extensions must be a minimum of 10 weeks
