Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, social-emotional skills, motor development, and early math concepts.
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Engage children in hands-on activities that support their physical development, cognitive growth, and emotional well-being.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share updates on each child's progress, milestones, and any concerns.
- Maintain accurate documentation of child development progress and adhere to mandated reporting laws when necessary.
- Foster a safe classroom atmosphere by practicing proper childcare procedures, including first aid and CPR when required.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons that integrate early intervention strategies and support diverse learning needs.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with young children in childcare, preschool, or daycare settings is essential.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in toddler care is required.
- Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content focused on literacy education, math fundamentals, physical education, and social skills.
- Strong classroom management skills coupled with effective behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members clearly and professionally.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in early childhood education is highly valued.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations.
- Experience with classroom experience including lesson planning, standardized testing preparation (if applicable), and working within preschool or private school environments is advantageous.
