HVAC New Construction Superintendent
About the Position
Majestic A/C is seeking an experienced HVAC New Construction Superintendent to oversee residential new construction projects throughout the Greater Houston area. This position is responsible for ensuring every project is installed to Majestic's quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with builders, project managers, and field teams.
The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable in HVAC new construction, understands building schedules and construction processes, and has the leadership skills to work directly with builders, installers, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and correctly the first time.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections to verify quality workmanship, code compliance, and adherence to company standards.
- Work closely with builders, superintendents, project managers, and trade partners to maintain positive relationships and ensure project success.
- Oversee HVAC installations from rough-in through final startup and homeowner orientation.
- Train, mentor, and support installation crews to promote consistency, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
- Verify proper installation of equipment, ductwork, ventilation systems, controls, and accessories according to plans and specifications.
- Review construction drawings, HVAC layouts, and job specifications prior to installation.
- Identify and resolve installation issues before they impact schedules or customer satisfaction.
- Monitor project schedules and coordinate manpower to meet builder deadlines.
- Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, manufacturer requirements, Energy Star standards, and company best practices.
- Perform quality assurance inspections and maintain detailed documentation of jobsite findings.
- Coordinate startup, commissioning, and final inspections.
- Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements.
- Serve as the primary field resource for builders regarding HVAC installation quality and project concerns.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of HVAC new construction experience.
- Previous experience leading installation crews, foremen, or field operations.
- Strong understanding of residential HVAC systems, duct design, ventilation requirements, zoning systems, and startup procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, HVAC plans, and construction documents.
- Familiarity with residential building practices and construction scheduling.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working directly with home builders and construction superintendents preferred.
- Knowledge of Energy Star requirements, HVAC codes, and industry standards preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in attic spaces, construction environments, and outdoor conditions.
