GlassConnect is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage both commercial and residential glass and glazing projects. We are looking for someone with construction knowledge who can take ownership of projects from the initial handoff through final completion.
The ideal candidate has experience in the glass, glazing, window, door, or related construction and understands how to coordinate field crews, materials, customers, general contractors, vendors, and project schedules.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial and residential glass projects from start through completion
- Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, proposals, and project scope
- Perform and verify field measurements as needed
- Coordinate material, glass, aluminum, hardware, windows, and doors required for each project
- Order materials and track lead times to keep projects on schedule
- Schedule and coordinate installers and field crews
- Communicate with general contractors, builders, homeowners, architects, vendors, and internal staff
- Attend project meetings and jobsite meetings when required
- Monitor job progress, schedules, and upcoming installation requirements
- Identify potential problems before they impact the project
- Handle change orders, additional work, and project documentation
- Coordinate punch-list work and ensure projects are completed properly
- Verify completed work meets company quality standards and project requirements
- Help manage project costs, labor hours, material usage, and overall job profitability
- Work closely with estimating, sales, purchasing, office staff, and field personnel
Commercial Experience
Candidates should have experience with or a working knowledge of products such as:
- Aluminum storefront systems
- Curtain wall systems
- Commercial entrances and doors
- Insulated glass
- Tempered and laminated glass
- Commercial door hardware
- Mirrors and interior glass
- Frameless glass systems
- Architectural glazing
- Reading architectural drawings, elevations, details, and specifications
Residential Experience
Experience with residential products is also preferred, including:
- Frameless shower enclosures
- Mirrors
- Residential windows
- Residential entry and patio doors
- Custom glass
- Insulated glass replacement
- Glass railings and specialty glass
- Field measuring and working directly with homeowners and builders
Qualifications
- Previous project management experience in glass, glazing, windows, doors
- Commercial glazing experience strongly preferred
- Residential glass experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Strong field-measuring and construction knowledge
- Excellent organizational and scheduling skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable managing multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to work effectively with both field crews and office personnel
- Basic computer skills and ability to work with construction/project management software
- Valid driver's license and ability to visit jobsites as needed
What We're Looking For
We want a Project Manager who takes ownership of their projects. This position requires someone who stays ahead of schedules, communicates well, follows up, solves problems, and makes sure installers have the correct information and materials before arriving at the jobsite.
This is not strictly an office position. Our Project Managers need to understand what happens in the field and be comfortable visiting jobsites, verifying conditions, communicating with installers, and making decisions necessary to keep projects moving.
