Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finish Carpenter or Lead Carpenter/Shop Manager to join our team. In this role, you will oversee residential and commercial carpentry projects, ensuring precision craftsmanship and timely completion. You will lead a team of carpenters, manage project workflows, interpret construction plans, and uphold safety standards. Your expertise in woodworking, trim carpentry, and restoration industry experience will drive quality results and customer satisfaction. Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to execute projects accurately.
- Lead and supervise carpentry crews, assigning tasks such as framing, trim work, siding, door hanging, and fixture installation.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools for woodworking, woodworking machines, and heavy lifting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform residential carpentry tasks including drywall finishing, plastering, stucco application, caulking, and water damage restoration.
- Install various wood construction materials such as siding, mold remediation components, rebar for framing reinforcement, and flooring tiles.
- Ensure all work complies with safety protocols including power tool safety standards; conduct regular safety inspections on-site.
- Manage project timelines by estimating construction costs accurately and coordinating with clients to meet project specifications.
- Assist in remodeling projects by interpreting technical drawings and executing tasks such as door hanging, fixture installation, and assembly.
- Support restoration projects involving water damage repair, mold remediation, rebar installation, and structural repairs using construction experience in the restoration industry.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, and residential woodworking.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools for woodworking, woodworking machines, and heavy lifting equipment.
- Strong knowledge of construction site safety practices including power tool safety protocols.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction plans accurately; experience with water damage restoration or mold remediation is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on residential projects; familiarity with siding installation, door hanging, tile laying, plastering or stucco is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail; strong communication skills for coordinating with clients and team members.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
