Position Summary:
The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive officer of the organization and is responsible for strategic leadership, operational management, financial oversight, granting, fundraising, development, and community engagement. The ED ensures the organization fulfills its mission, maintains financial health, and delivers high‑quality programs and services. The ED works closely with the Board of Directors to set organizational direction and uphold governance standards.

Major Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategic Direction
· Provide visionary leadership that advances the organization’s mission and long‑term goals.
· Develop and implement strategic plans in collaboration with the Board.
· Foster a positive, inclusive, mission‑driven organizational culture.
· Oversee all programs, ensuring quality, effectiveness, and alignment with strategic priorities
· Directly supervises the Program Director and the Accounting Assistant, providing leadership, performance management, and ongoing support to ensure effective program delivery and strong financial operations.
Board Relations & Governance
· Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors.
· Support the Board in governance, policy development, and strategic decision‑making.
· Provide timely, accurate reports on organizational performance, finances, and operations.
· Assist in Board recruitment, orientation, and development.
Financial Management
· Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and fiscal accountability.
· Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
· Manage organizational resources responsibly and transparently.
· Work with accounting staff or contractors to maintain strong internal controls.
Fundraising & Development
· Lead fundraising strategy, including donor cultivation, grant writing, sponsorships, and events.
· Maintain strong relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders.
· Ensure diversified revenue streams to support organizational sustainability.
Operations & Human Resources
· Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with policies and laws.
· Recruit, supervise, and evaluate staff; promote professional development.
· Maintain a safe, respectful, and equitable workplace.
· Ensure effective use of technology, systems, and organizational infrastructure.
Community Engagement & Advocacy
· Serve as the public face of the organization in the community and media.
· Build partnerships with agencies, coalitions, and community leaders.
· Advocate for issues relevant to the organization’s mission.
· Represent the organization at events, meetings, and public forums.
Compliance & Risk Management
· Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, grant requirements, and reporting standards.
· Maintain organizational policies, procedures, and risk‑management practices.
· Oversee contract management and legal obligations.
Qualifications:
· Education or Experience — Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Volunteer Management, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field; OR 10+ years of progressively responsible nonprofit leadership experience.
· Leadership Background — Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage programs, and oversee organizational operations.
· Fundraising Expertise — Proven success in donor cultivation, grant writing, sponsorship development, and fundraising strategy.
· Financial Oversight — Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and nonprofit fiscal accountability.
· Communication Skills — Strong written, verbal, and public‑speaking abilities for diverse audiences and stakeholders.
· Strategic & Community Engagement — Ability to develop long‑term organizational strategies and build partnerships within the community.
Evaluation:
Position is to be evaluated annually within an outcomes-based review. This process will be set-up in partnership with the Board President and confirmed by the board based on the fiscal and program year (July through June). The process will consist of a minimum of five (5) core service and program objectives with minimum expectations to maintain position as well as opportunities for surpassing expectations that may confirm compensation increases annually.
Pay: $75,000.00 per year
