Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Utilities Foreman with experience in URD for power and telecommunication to lead and oversee utility construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency from start to finish. This role involves managing field crews, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring all work complies with industry standards and safety regulations. The Utilities Foreman will play a vital role in delivering complex utility infrastructure projects on time and within budget, fostering a collaborative team environment that emphasizes excellence and innovation.
Duties
- Supervise daily operations on construction sites, including installation of pipelines, electrical systems, and other utility infrastructure components.
- Coordinate project schedules using construction management software such as Primavera P6 and HeavyBid to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide installation and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure all work adheres to OSHA safety standards, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage subcontractors and team members, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing guidance to meet project specifications.
- Conduct quality control checks using tools like ohmmeters and ensure all work meets industry standards and client expectations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of project progress, change orders, contracts, and daily reports using Bluebeam or other construction management software.
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction site management with a focus on utility projects such as pipelines or electrical systems.
- Proficiency in construction management software including Primavera P6, Primavera, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other relevant tools.
- Strong knowledge of contracts, budgeting, project scheduling, and construction estimating processes.
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and best practices for construction safety on heavy-duty sites.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to ensure seamless project execution.
