Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking a
Production Mill Operator in partnership with a prominent client in the Deposit, NY area. This position involves operating a variety of equipment throughout the facility.
Summary
Shift: 3rd: 7pm – 7am (3 days on: 3 days off)
Salary: $18.00 plus shift differential
Production Mill Operator Job Duties:
- Operate and regulate pellet mill equipment.
- Conduct quality assurance testing on finished pellets and incoming raw materials, including moisture levels.
- Change pellet mill rolls and dies using an overhead hoist.
- Perform regular inspections of production equipment and processes, observing potential issues such as overheating, fires, bearing failures, or mechanical malfunctions and respond appropriately.
- Work closely with others in packaging, dryer, and loader operations.
- Measure and document pellet durability, fines content, pellet size, and soak test results to ensure compliance with PFI quality standards.
- Adjust feed rates and make equipment modifications as needed.
- Perform ash testing on mixes and finished products.
- Complete daily shift summary documentation, review and verify operator reports, reporting incidents, accidents, equipment concerns, and maintenance needs
- Participate in scheduled maintenance shutdowns, repairs, and cleaning activities.
Production Mill Operator Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of pellet production or manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to obtain company forklift certification.
- Must be capable of safely lifting up to 80 lbs and standing for extended shifts of up to 12 hours.
- Comfortable working on elevated catwalks and climbing ladders.
- Basic math and measurement skills required.
- Ability to work in hot, humid, and dusty industrial environments, including outdoor and indoor tasks.
