About Freedom Ministry
Freedom Ministry is a faith-based residential recovery program in New Holland, PA, helping men find freedom from addiction and build a new life through Jesus Christ. Through Biblical teaching, counseling, life skills, vocational training, and community support, we walk alongside men as they rebuild their lives and relationships.
Freedom Thrift Stores help support this mission while providing men in our program with valuable work experience, job training, and opportunities to develop skills they can carry into their future.
We are looking for someone who wants to use their creativity, organizational skills, and passion for our mission to help tell our story and connect people with the work God is doing through Freedom Ministry.
The Opportunity
The Development & Marketing Coordinator will help support fundraising, donor relations, communications, events, and marketing for Freedom Ministry and Freedom Thrift Stores.
This is a hands-on role with opportunities to learn and grow in many areas of nonprofit development. You will work closely with our team to build relationships with donors and community partners, share stories of freedom and restoration, support fundraising efforts, and help promote the ministry.
What You’ll DoFundraising & Donor Relations
- Help communicate with donors through thank-you notes, letters, emails, newsletters, and other donor communications.
- Assist with donor stewardship and help create meaningful ways for supporters to stay connected to Freedom Ministry.
- Maintain accurate donor information and records in Little Green Light.
- Research prospective donors, businesses, churches, foundations, and community partners.
- Assist with grant applications, sponsorship requests, and other fundraising opportunities.
- Help track fundraising results and prepare reports.
Events
- Help plan and coordinate fundraising and community events, including our annual banquet.
- Assist with event communications, invitations, sponsorships, registration, logistics, and follow-up.
- Help develop creative ways to engage donors and community members before, during, and after events.
Marketing & Communications
- Help manage and create content for Freedom Ministry and Freedom Thrift Stores social media accounts.
- Write and edit stories, newsletters, emails, social media posts, and other communications that share the impact of our ministry.
- Assist with email marketing through Flodesk.
- Help maintain and update our website through WordPress.
- Work with staff to gather stories, photos, and information that help tell the story of Freedom Ministry.
- Help maintain a consistent and encouraging voice across our communications.
General Development Support
- Assist with fundraising campaigns and special projects throughout the year.
- Help organize development materials, donor information, and marketing resources.
- Assist with basic event and campaign budgets.
- Work with staff and volunteers to support the overall mission of Freedom Ministry and Freedom Thrift Stores.
- Be willing to learn new tools, skills, and areas of nonprofit development.

The ideal candidate will have:
- A genuine desire to support the mission of Freedom Ministry and see lives changed through Jesus Christ.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Creativity and an interest in storytelling, social media, and marketing.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- A willingness to learn about fundraising, grant writing, donor relations, and nonprofit communications.
- Comfort working independently while also being part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with social media.
- A positive, flexible, and teachable attitude.
Nonprofit, marketing, communications, fundraising, or event experience is helpful but not required. Experience with WordPress, email marketing, Canva, social media management, or donor databases is a plus.
