We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Delivery Driver to join our team. This position involves delivering and handling heavy furniture and sofa beds, interacting directly with customers, and collecting payments when required.
Responsibilities:
- Safely deliver furniture, sofa beds, mattresses, and other household items throughout the Tri-State area.
- Load, unload, and carry heavy furniture into customers' homes and businesses.
- Collect payments from customers and promptly submit all funds and paperwork to the office.
- Obtain customer signatures and complete delivery documentation.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules.
- Inspect merchandise before and after delivery to ensure quality standards are met.
- Keep company vehicles clean and report maintenance issues immediately.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
- Must be available Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM until the route is completed.
- Must speak, read, and understand English fluently.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, maneuver, and install heavy sofa beds and furniture weighing 150+ pounds.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Must be responsible, punctual, and trustworthy when handling customer payments.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including stairs and tight spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous furniture delivery or moving experience.
- Experience driving box trucks or delivery vehicles.
- Familiarity with New York City, New Jersey, and Philadelphia delivery routes.
