Substance Abuse Therapist
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Position: Full-Time, Exempt
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift
Salary: $60,000-$70,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
Job Summary
Into Action Recovery is seeking a Substance Abuse Therapist to join our growing outpatient team in Scottsdale, Arizona. Under the direction of the Clinical Director and Program Director, the Therapist is responsible for providing direct client care, facilitating individual and group therapy, maintaining clinical documentation, participating in treatment planning, and supporting clients throughout the recovery process. This position offers the opportunity to help build and shape a growing behavioral health program while making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals recovering from substance use disorders.
Essential Responsibilities
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy services.
- Conduct Behavioral Health Assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical documentation.
- Manage an assigned client caseload and monitor progress throughout treatment.
- Conduct suicide risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis intervention as needed.
- Provide case management, discharge planning, and aftercare recommendations.
- Coordinate care with medical providers, admissions, and the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical supervision, and program development.
- Maintain compliance with licensing, accreditation, payer, and company requirements.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Master's Degree and Arizona licensure in a behavioral health field.
- Bachelor's Degree and at least one year of full-time behavioral health experience.
- Associate's Degree and at least two years of full-time behavioral health experience qualifying as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in substance use disorder treatment.
- Experience facilitating therapeutic groups.
- Experience with treatment planning and clinical documentation.
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented systems of care and 12-Step recovery.
- Two or more years of recovery experience (if self-disclosed in recovery).
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
