Position Summary
Massachusetts TC Clinical Group is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to provide psychiatric and medical services within our Clinical Stabilization Services (CSS) program.
Working collaboratively with the Medical Director and multidisciplinary treatment team, the PMHNP will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, assessment and treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) support, treatment recommendations, and coordination of care. The PMHNP will practice within the scope of Massachusetts APRN licensure and in accordance with BSAS regulations and organizational policies.
Essential Responsibilities Clinical Care
- Conduct psychiatric, admission, follow-up, and discharge evaluations for clients receiving services.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Perform focused physical and psychiatric assessments.
- Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric and other medications in accordance with Massachusetts regulations and organizational policies.
- Provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services as appropriate and within scope of practice.
- Perform medication reconciliation and review medication regimens for safety and effectiveness.
- Assess and manage withdrawal-related medical and psychiatric concerns.
- Determine when clients require a higher level of psychiatric or medical care and coordinate appropriate referrals.
Care Coordination
- Collaborate with the Medical Director regarding client care, treatment recommendations, and complex medical or psychiatric concerns.
- Coordinate care with nursing staff, clinicians, primary care providers, hospitals, specialty providers, pharmacies, and other community partners.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and treatment planning.
- Provide clinical consultation and education to nursing and behavioral health staff.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete timely, accurate, and comprehensive documentation in the electronic health record.
- Maintain compliance with Massachusetts APRN regulations, BSAS requirements, Joint Commission standards, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
- Participate in quality improvement and compliance initiatives as requested.
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.
- Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Current DEA Registration and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration (MCSR).
- Experience treating individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders preferred.
- Experience with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) preferred.
- Strong assessment, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
