Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and packaging of dental instruments and surgical tools using proper sterile processing techniques.
- Operate medical sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and sterilizers to ensure all instruments meet strict infection prevention standards.
- Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, ensuring proper storage, tracking, and restocking of dental instruments and materials.
- Reprocess endoscopes and other specialized medical equipment following manufacturer guidelines and infection control protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, instrument logs, and quality assurance records to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Follow aseptic techniques and infection prevention management practices during all stages of instrument handling to prevent cross-contamination.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for procedures while adhering to strict safety standards related to anatomy knowledge and physiology.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of sterile processing, including medical instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization procedures.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems to track supplies efficiently.
