Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product demos when needed
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with integrity, including cash register balancing and reconciliation
- Upsell relevant products or services to enhance customer satisfaction and store sales
- Maintain organized merchandising displays, stock shelves, and assist with inventory stocking to ensure attractive product presentation
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone etiquette and in person, ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Support team members in supervising store activities when required, fostering a collaborative environment
Requirements
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse customers in bilingual environments is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to handle cash responsibly and perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demos enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential for building rapport with shoppers
- Supervising experience is advantageous for supporting team leadership tasks when needed
