Overview:
As a Teacher Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing care and education to children within our program. You will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports the growth and development of young learners. The position requires a deep understanding of various educational methodologies and a passion for fostering children's holistic development.
Responsibilities:
- Implement age-appropriate curricular plans that cater to the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of children.
- Conduct developmental assessments and maintain regular observations to track children's progress.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom and during activities.
- Foster positive relationships with parents, co-workers, and students to create a supportive learning community.
- Develop and execute engaging lesson plans that promote learning through play and exploration.
- Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating appropriate attitudes, speech, and actions.
- Encourage children's self-confidence, problem-solving skills, and sense of responsibility.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming learning environment conducive to growth and development.
Skills:
- Proficiency in physical education techniques to promote active learning.
- Ability to effectively educate children using diverse teaching strategies.
- Experience or knowledge in Deaf education to support inclusive learning environments.
- Strong communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- Familiarity with early childhood education principles and best practices.
- Knowledge of learning technology tools to enhance teaching methods.
- Understanding of behavioral therapy techniques for managing classroom dynamics.
- Previous experience in childcare settings with a focus on child development.
- Skill in curriculum development to create engaging educational experiences.
- Familiarity with early intervention strategies to support children's individual needs.
Desired Qualifications:
- 1+ to 2 years of experience in a teaching or childcare role.
- Ability to work with various age groups including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- First Aid Training and CPR certification preferred.
- Willingness to complete additional training such as CPR/First Aid/Universal Precautions Training class, SIDS certification, fingerprinting, and background checks.
